Contemporary art in historical walls - the DA, House of Art Monastery Gravenhorst stands for this exciting connection. In the former Cistercian monastery from the year 1256, art is being created today. Artists from the region as well as from all over the world meet art amateurs to produce art together.

Exhibitions, project scholarships, open art projects and workshops invite children, youngsters and adult to think, to partake and enjoy the experience. Festivals, concerts, readings, theatre performances can be experienced in the DA culture. DA stands also for Denk-Mal-Atelier, because one of the most important guiding principle is, to connect history and art and to convey it. Under the title 'History behind the gable', aspects of Gravenhorst's past are being presented every half year.
