The old town hall, built in 1897 and redesigned in the 50ties, housed until 1947 the fire brigade in its lower part and until 1987 the bigger part of the town administration. Today, the town's tourist-information is housed here, the town library, which exists since 1902 and the municipal archive as well as premises for changing exhibitions.
Apart from cultural events on the first floor, at times the town's council and committees meet her.
The town hall place itself is situated in close proximity to the important north-south-west-east trading crossroads, which played an important part in the town's foundation.
